Quality Infrastructure

Quality Infrastructure is generally regarded as the totality of the public and private institutional framework required to establish and implement the

  •  standardization,
  • metrology (scientific, industrial and legal),
  • accreditation and
  • conformity assessment services (inspection, testing and product and system certification)

necessary to provide acceptable evidence that products and services meet  the specific requirements, demanded by the authorities or the market place.

Quality Infrastructure consists of a number of institutions and service providers that can only function properly as a whole. In the event of the incompetence or absence of any one of the elements of this infrastructure, the effectiveness of the whole system – and ultimately its efficiency - will be compromised and this would have a negative impact on the business environment.
