ACHIEVEMENTS TOWARD SUCCESS AND SUSTAINABILITY
In spite of being one of the largest economies in Africa, Nigeria lacks an internationally recognized National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) with the capacity to ensure safety, integrity and marketability of goods and services and the removal of technical barriers to local, regional and international trade.
The National Quality Infrastructure Project for Nigeria (NQIP) is in charge of achieving the second objective of the European Union (EU) Programme to support Nigeria´s Competitiveness in Trade and Investment. This project is funded by the EU and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in coordination with the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN).
The NQI project aims to support the improvement and establishment of existing and missing national quality infrastructure in order to upgrade the quality of products, to boost competitiveness of the private sector, and to ensure the protection of Nigeria´s consumers.
